Martin-Baker MB-5 Replica
      #285 - 02/02/2008 14:01

Does anyone have recent information on John Marlin's MB-5 replica?
It was certified as N445MB on 21/02/2004 with c/n R2496.
I have not seen any reports of it flying yet.

Hi Gerry,
It was on show at Reno a couple of years ago, but not the most recent show. I'm pretty certain it hasn't flown. I remember it in the old days when working for Warbirds Worldwide, so it's been going a while!

Unfortunately there seem to be some significant major variations from the original design, including the understandable one of using a P-51 wing, and the less obviously-logical one of shortening the aircraft.

Let's see how things turn out.

Regards,
