Paul Allen's ME 262
      #96 - 23/10/2006 03:31

Any news on the whereabouts and status of Paul Allen's ME 262? Will it fly or just be static? Will it's engines be startable? Alot of secretecy about this bird, anyone know anything?

It's in Norfolk and it's unfair to say that there's been a great deal of secrecy around the project since it's been featured in the pages of Aeroplane Monthly.

It's a restoration to airworthy condition.

I'm going to see the 262 in June. I saw it last year and only the tail was under restoration as the FW190 was taking up most of the time and effort. I'm interested to see how far along the restoration path the plane is now as the 190 is now in the States.
