During this two day event Newark Air Museum will provide a rare viewing experience of a number of its historic British, NATO and Warsaw Pact Jet Fighters. Normally these cockpits remain in-accessible, some have fully fitted interiors, others are partially complete and sadly some are totally empty. Those aircraft that we expect to be included within this event are: Meteor NF12, Meteor FR9, Sea Harrier, Sea Hawk, Viggen, Draken, Super Sabre, MiG and the Swift and Phantom cockpit sections. Viewing times of all open aircraft may be staggered throughout each day depending on the availability of volunteer aircraft openers. Full details and updates cam be found at http://www.newarkairmuseum.org/news.php |

A couple of pictures on the link below might whet the appetite! The one on the left is the Draken cockpit. http://www.military-airshows.co.uk/press06/newarkfightercockpitprapr2008.htm |

I’ve been asked to remind everyone that many of the aircraft cockpits that are available for viewing on Saturday and Sunday are inside our display hangars so they will be un-affected by any poor weather this weekend. This includes: Meteor NF12, Meteor FR9, Sea Harrier, Sea Hawk, Viggen, Draken, and the Swift and Phantom cockpit sections. http://www.newarkairmuseum.org/news.php Hopefully the Vulcan cockpit will be available for inspection both days – a small additional charge of 50p per person is made for access to this aircraft. |
