In recent months there has been a host of aircraft recognition threads on a variety of aviation fora.
So to tap into this interest in aircraft recognition and also to celebrate the 85th Anniversary of the official formation of the Observer Corps Newark Air Museum is running a free to enter competition at its site on Winthorpe Showground.
This features a montage of 39 ‘black models’ that have been displayed around the Royal Observer Corps dioramas in Hangar 1.
Anyone who pays to visit the museum between 2 January, 2010 and 31 March, 2010 is eligible to enter and each month there are prizes to a total value of £85 available to be won.
Further details can be found here along with the competition rules – ‘Happy Aircraft Recognition!’

Fastwalker – well done that man with your membership; as for ‘last models’ a couple of similar calls were heard yesterday; but my favourite was this young boy trying to persuade his dad to let him by the large scale Airfix Mossie at over £100 – he nearly got him to crack!
Typhoon Lover – we need to let this competition run its course up until the end of March before we can come up with anything ‘online’; if your really keen I could email you one of our education sheets called ‘Pick a Nose’ – that has a bit of aircraft recognition in it – not sure about a prize though!! PM me an email address if you're interested.
Pen Pusher – looking at the latest weather forecast we might be getting snow before the new competition starts; bizarrely I called in just before Christmas, without my camera (as then there was nothing over here in Nottingham) yet there was lying snow at the museum. ------------- Cosmetic Surgery | Boob Job

I've got my Volenteering section sorted-Helping with a club for under 13's but I don't know what to do for Skill or Physical!
I want to do something exciting and different, I wanted to do Rock climbing and Photography but their too expensive.
I've read the list of the website but nothing appeals.
Any Ideas..?
