In the cemetery at Readfield Corners in Kennebec County there is a large old vault, mostly above ground, which merely has the word Vance on it. I assume that this is the burial place of (Squire) William Vance who died in Readfield in 1841 about 80 years of age, leaving a large posterity, an interesting will, and a disaffected young wife, Charity (Stafford). Vance had been a colorful figure in eastern Maine (Washington Co.) and New Brunswick until he moved to Kennebec Co. in the 1830's. He had been, among other things, a delegate to the Maine Constitutional Convention in 1820. I am interested in contacting anyone who has more specific information about this gravesite -- Is it William? Are other family members buried there? etc. Also am interested in anyone who can trace descent from this William Vance. ------------------ Car Parts | Auto Parts

I have been doing research into the Hukins family that originates from High Halden in Kent England. I have masses of information but there are a lot of gaps that need filling in. Any one who can give me some help please contact me at the email address at the bottom of this page. At this stage I go back to the early 1700's but there are a huge number of missing links. _________________________________________________ Composite Doors Composite Front Doors

There is another Hukins family in Australia who originate from Chartham (Chatham?) Kent. Their great, great grandfather is William Ambrose Hukins born in 1830 in Chartham who married Clare Marshal born 1839 in Reading. Any information on this family would also be a help as I keep in touch with Australia. I am sure that if we could manage to go back far enough we will find that both families originate from the same Hukins. Ambrose Hukins father was Jefse (nickname?) Hukins (1801) married to Elizabeth Christian in 1826. Jefse Hukins father was Ambrose Hukins born in Chartham (date of birth unknown) who was married to Elizabeth Burchet in 1784. ________________________________________________ Office Chairs | Chairs
